Our campus is focused on providing engaging learning opportunities for all students. One way in which we accomplish this is through Project Based Learning (PBL). This site contains information on how to implement the T3 PBL. It was designed for 6th graders; however, it could be modified for students of any level.
Project Overview: In groups students are challenged to become an expert on a technology tool and then teach it to the class. They must provide sequential instructions as well as support to their peers while they are teaching.
Objectives: (Texas TEKS) 6.12A Follow multi-tasked instructions to complete a task, solve a problem, or perform procedures. 6.26B Give oral instructions that include multiple action steps. 6.19Aviii Use and understand the function of transtional words and phrases.
*Special thanks goes to the rest of the 6th grade ELA team at BDJH: Emily Coffee, Lee James, Katelyn McIntosh, Jennifer Nelson, Lisa Rothe, and Veronica Chavez Bueno. These teachers along with Stacy Hillegeist and Heather Hogan created and implemented this project in the fall of 2012.
